[25 August 2010] The GEAR Campaign calls on civil society to take action in the next steps of advocacy for UN Women and ensure that UN Women exceeds expectations. The Call to Action focuses on how civil society can help to shape the agenda of UN Women by engaging in partnerships with UN agencies and allies, the importance of financial resources for the new entity, and the appointment of an Under-Secretary-General who can lead UN Women effectively.
