In the aftermath of the sex scandal involving the head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss -Kahn and growing evidence of sexual violence by actors operating within intergovernmental bodies including the UN, would we not want a more explicit role for the UN women in ensuring accountability of the UN system in addressing acts of gender-based violence committed by members of the UN diplomatic missions State actors and UN personnel?

Wonderful. Please remember that reproductive health and the ability to control one's fertility are absolute pre-requisites to women's empowerment. Cheers, Jane Robert, 34 Million Friends of UNFPA Give your dollar if you haven't already done it. We're up to $4.15 million

I am willing to participate in the women and genser justice cause and actions, campaigns. I want to see a massive change in the legal and judiciary system working in every country in the globe and protect the interest of women and their rights over the land, resources and the properties especially in India like countries where the women are killed and harressed leading to slow deaths, causing life time and every day death fear and making them permanently ill in mind and body. I call upon the enitre women group to raise themselves and work towards the gender equity and equality in any society.
The interference of money and political powers in the way of women and human rights to be stoped and every woman under the sky should inhale the air of freedom and live with total rights under the sky.

The PCB of UNAIDS is not really a good model. The NGO delegation have no vote. Governments often use their votes to silence the delegation and to stop proposals from civil society being voted on. Usually they just use it to restrict the time that NGOs can put up issues of importance so that things like the next meeting venue can have a few hours for discussion- while real issues for people with and affected by HIV get sidelined.
A model like the PCB but with full voting rights- something the UNAIDS PCB continues to oppose for the UNAIDS board would be better- but would still give member states the numbers to vote down any civil society resolutions if they so wanted.

I'm unsure why you reject the ILO model where Trade Unions have full voting rights and have had since it's establishment in the 1930's.

Another good model is the Global Fund on AIDS, TB and Malaria- where the civil society delegation has full voting rights.
