[Nepal, January 1, 2011] The South Asian Campaign for Gender Equality (SACGE) would like to welcome the UN Women the long awaited New Women’s Agency which the UN had approved in July 2010 and is operational from today 1st January 2011.

[November 2010] UN Women must develop creative ways to engage with a diverse NGO constituency – particularly women’s and grassroots organizations. UN country teams are mandated to advance the UN Women’s agenda in the field, and as they do so, should draw upon the knowledge and experience of civil society groups and networks who have long worked in this area.

[Pakistan, September 2010] The following paper includes recommendations from Pakistani Women’s Rights Advocates to the government of Pakistan on the newly established entity UN Women.

[Fidji Islands, 31 August 2009] FemLINKpacific, the regional focal point of the GEAR Campaign in Pacific, has sent a letter to Pacific governments, asking them to vote “yes” on a new UN women’s agency.

[25 August 2009] Asia-Pacific Women’s Watch (APWW) has sent a letter to the UN Member States of the region on behalf the Southeast Asia GEAR Campaign.

[20 August 2009] South Asian Campaign for Gender Equality (SACGE), the GEAR Campaign regional focal point for South Asia, has published a statement on the proposed UN Gender Equality Architecture.
